yes, she really is this cute

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Little Miss Bean, July 8 2007. 3-1/2 years old, spunky, and diabolical. She can’t dance unless she’s wearing her “Princess Dress”. She can’t walk in the rain without an umbrella. She has more shoes than I do. She can do everything all by herself.

Today’s favorites:

TV: Scooby Doo (original series on DVD)
Movie: Wallace & Gromit, Winnie the Pooh Singalong
Music: Bella Dancerella’s Dance Like A Princess DVD
Food: Mac & Cheese, of course
Pastime: Organizing her “haircups” (barettes); Play-Doh; cars
Character: The Little Mermaid, Ariel

Mommy’s Favorites:

1. The way Ellie says “I love you so much, Mommy” when she’s falling asleep.
2. Putting “piggertails” in her hair for her, because I’m the only one that can do it right.
3. That smile.
4. High-fives.
5. Her strange taste in clothes.
6. The drawing she made for me ON MY WOODEN CLOGS
7. Those chubby little fingers.
8. When she sleeps, she looks the same today as she did when she was an infant. I wish I could bottle that up and keep it forever.

Claudia + Lauras: the engagement session

Sunday, July 8th, 2007

If you’re looking at these people thinking “sheesh, are they models?” you’re not alone. Claudia and Lauras are as tall as they look in pictures. If not taller. They both possess unfairly perfect bodies, smiles, skin, hair…. and yet, neither one of them seems to realize how lovely/gorgeous/model-like they really are. It’s enough to make you sick, except these are some of the nicest people on earth. If they weren’t, I’d totally never talk about how pretty they are. Not in public anyway.

So for their engagement session we wandered around downtown Wilmington for an hour or so. We had fun, even though it was about 172 degrees in the shade that day. Let me tell you how much they trust me: even in that heat, I made them order HOT coffee to “re-create” their first date at a sidewalk cafe on Front Street. THEN I made them stand next to a putrid dumpster in an alley because I liked the way the street looked. No matter how unpleasant the experience was, they were always laughing, joking, and having fun. That’s just the kinda people they are.

Oh, one more fun fact: Lauras is from Lithuania. 1) That’s hot. 2) The accent is beyond charming.

Claudia and Lauras had me design a guest book for their reception, and it turned out *amazing*. Check it out!

And, finally, here are some more images from the engagement session:

2007.05.26 | Sabrina + Juston

Monday, July 2nd, 2007

Sabrina is so sweet. I just adore her. She’s really laid back, and she has this very quiet exterior – and underneath that innocent facade is this brash, talkative, FUNNY chick who just loves to talk and laugh and joke and have fun. It was a real pleasure working with Sabrina and Juston, they were silly sweet and clearly love eachother an awful lot. I only spent two hours with them on their wedding day, but I had a great time and really enjoyed watching these two commit to eachother.

Here are some highlights from their wedding at Halyburton Park in Wilmington, NC:
