I honestly don’t know why or how, but as soon as Ellie discovered mini-bagels, she’s called them “dolphins”. Even after visiting Sea World in San Diego and seeing real dolphins, up close and personal, she still calls mini-bagels “dolphins.”
Which I find uncontrollably cute. We even write “dolphins” on our grocery lists.
But this morning, as I grabbed her “eat fast” breakfast on our way out the door to preschool, I started wondering what her teachers would think, since I’m not there to translate.
“What did you have for breakfast, Ellie?”
“Bananas and dolphins.”
