All this travel has taken its toll on my poor blog. I have had the worst time trying to find an hour here, two hours there just to get some new entries out for you. I’m still in a time crunch, heading out for another very long distance wedding this weekend and trying to get caught up on the few that are in the queue for editing, but I thought I would take a quick breather and show two images from each wedding and engagement that I’ve shot over the last 6 weeks…

I’ll be posting full-length blog entries on each of these sessions and events … in August. Yeah. I think August will be a little calmer!

first up! Mary Lee and Dave were married over Memorial Day weekend in Yakima, WA. It was gorgeous, and I finally got to shoot a bride and groom in a wheat field!

Stephanie and Anthony were married in the resort town of Duck, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina

Shilpa + Sunil were married at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Richmond, VA just a couple weeks ago…

Then I shot Whitney + Alex’s real engagement session at Wrightsville Beach:

I met Maggie and Matt in downtown Wilmington for their engagement session, and then we went and had a couple pints at one of my favorite Wilmington pubs, Cape Fear Wine and Beer.

Ashley and Harold had the sweetest, most romantic wedding in Greenville, VA – a tiny mountain town nestled between Roanoke and Staunton. So, so sweet.

And, finally, right after shooting Ashley and Harold’s wedding in Greenville, I drove about 45 minutes to Crozet VA (near Charlottesville) and met Loren and Adam at their house in the middle of nowhere. I’m apparently the first person to actually find their house the first time without a GPS, and without getting lost. Yeah, that’s right. I’m a walking GPS.

This is another couple that made me drink beer with them. It’s a terribly tough job.

Do you know Tom Rhodes? If not, you should. His music is *awesome*, you totally need to buy his CDs, add his dates to your calendar, and be a groupie.

Morgan is a *fabulous* graphic artist – she’s currently working on my new logo for me, and I really could NOT be happier about it – she’s so talented, and intuitive, and everything you want in an artist.

I could not imagine a more perfect couple. I’m not just saying that for free tickets to his shows, either.

We met up tonight at the Cape Fear Fair & Expo here in Wilmington, and just goofed off for a couple hours. Can I just tell you – it is NOT EASY to hold on to a camera, focus, expose AND shoot while going practically vertical on a carnival ride!

Anyway… I had tons of fun with you guys! I’ll see you next week!

This was one of the best engagement sessions ever. Lesley and Jon are laid back, funny, and completely irreverent – my kinda people!!! Michael and I had such a great time working with them! We can’t wait for your wedding!

What a delightfully nutty group this was! We spent about two hours together, photographing every combination of groups and kids we could come up with.

Some of the younger kids weren’t 100% into the session, so I let them get behind the lens to see what I could see. I think they got some of the best shots of the day!

I can finally share Danielle’s bridal session!!!

This was one of those lucky sessions, where we set out for one thing (the bridge in the opening sequence of One Tree Hill), and ended up finding something way better (some random industrial area with trucks and warehouses and weeds and stuff). It was awesome, and Danielle is about as fun as a bride can be… she didn’t really care about her dress getting dirty, or her hair getting blown around in the *ridiculous* wind we had that day. She just had fun.

Oh, and you might remember Danielle from the engagement session we did a few weeks before her bridal. Same deal – just lots of fun and no worries.

So, Danielle and Trey got married on October 18th at St Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Wilmington, and even though it was like 8 degrees and pouring (or probably more like 50 degrees with a steady slow rain, but what difference does it make?), they both had a blast. Stay tuned for a quick sneak peek of their awesome wedding in the next few days!

For now, here are some more of my favorites from Danielle’s bridal!

Alice Ann’s bridal portrait session was the first time that I had my close friend and associate Michael shooting with me on a commissioned gig. He had been learning about exposure and lighting from me for months leading up to the session, but we hadn’t put his knowledge to the test until that day.

We all rocked.

Alice Ann chose the *perfect* gown for her – it fit her like a glove, and accentuated her willowy, beautiful frame. And she was just as sweet and charming as could be, and willing to do whatever we asked. It was a fantastic bridal session, and I’m so glad that I can post the pictures now that she’s a married woman!

Alice Ann and Henry were married August 2nd in Blowing Rock, NC. Their wedding photos will be online next week!

Leigh and Cliff. Oh my gosh. Back when I shot their wedding, I didn’t know what a blog was. But I do have their album design online, so you can see how absolutely wonderful their wedding was. Truly one of my most memorable of ALL time, and that’s really saying a lot. Leigh and Cliff have been awesome clients through the years. I’ve gotten so many great referrals from them, always incredible couples with wonderful weddings. Anyway, yeah, these guys are so great.

They had a baby boy, Grier, and I’d been dying to shoot a family session with them (but they live on the other side of the state, so getting together when all our schedules meshed wasn’t easy). We finally had a shot at it when Cliff’s family rented a beach house at Emerald Isle this summer. I got to see everyone again, and we spent a couple hours together on the beach trying to get Grier happy . The trick was water balloons, so they feature in a few of the pictures.

Hopefully I’ll get to see these folks every year, and watch Grier (and his cousin who should be arriving in the next few months!) grow up. Grier is only going to get cuter and more devilish, and I can’t wait to see what the upcoming arrival is like! Anyway, if it isn’t already clear: great family, great memories. The best part of my job is this.

Isn’t she adorable?  Meg and Tallon were married on June 28, 2008 in Darlington, SC.  Their wedding photos will be posted soon!

Deborah and Jason are getting married on November 11th this year in Cary, NC! We had a lot of fun at their engagement session earlier this month at Wrightsville Beach, and I had a blast designing their signature album for their reception!
