Claudia + Lauras: the engagement session

If you’re looking at these people thinking “sheesh, are they models?” you’re not alone. Claudia and Lauras are as tall as they look in pictures. If not taller. They both possess unfairly perfect bodies, smiles, skin, hair…. and yet, neither one of them seems to realize how lovely/gorgeous/model-like they really are. It’s enough to make you sick, except these are some of the nicest people on earth. If they weren’t, I’d totally never talk about how pretty they are. Not in public anyway.

So for their engagement session we wandered around downtown Wilmington for an hour or so. We had fun, even though it was about 172 degrees in the shade that day. Let me tell you how much they trust me: even in that heat, I made them order HOT coffee to “re-create” their first date at a sidewalk cafe on Front Street. THEN I made them stand next to a putrid dumpster in an alley because I liked the way the street looked. No matter how unpleasant the experience was, they were always laughing, joking, and having fun. That’s just the kinda people they are.

Oh, one more fun fact: Lauras is from Lithuania. 1) That’s hot. 2) The accent is beyond charming.

Claudia and Lauras had me design a guest book for their reception, and it turned out *amazing*. Check it out!

And, finally, here are some more images from the engagement session:

Halyburton Park Wedding | Sabrina + Juston

Sabrina is so sweet. I just adore her. She’s really laid back, and she has this very quiet exterior – and underneath that innocent facade is this brash, talkative, FUNNY chick who just loves to talk and laugh and joke and have fun. It was a real pleasure working with Sabrina and Juston, they were silly sweet and clearly love eachother an awful lot. I only spent two hours with them on their wedding day, but I had a great time and really enjoyed watching these two commit to eachother.

Here are some highlights from their wedding at Halyburton Park in Wilmington, NC:

NC State Football Stadium Wedding | Sarah + Greg

I honestly don’t even know how to begin writing about Sarah and Greg. I mean this in the most sincere way possible – there are no words to describe this couple. I have tried. One of the reasons it took me so long to update my blog was I couldn’t seem to write an entry that adequately described their wedding, their love for eachother, their constant pursuit of fun, or the way that they just feel like family to me. So I guess what I just wrote will have to do.

I met them first when they drove down for their engagement session. After we shot for a couple of hours, they bought me a beer and we talked, for HOURS, about life and love and karma and happenstance. We marveled at one anothers’ stories, we laughed, we toasted new beginnings, we connected. After that day, I knew their wedding would be something special, and I knew it would probably end up being one of my all time favorites.

Sarah and Greg were married at the NC State Botanical Gardens, and their reception was at the NC State Football Stadium. Not in a ballroom at the Stadium, mind you – but right in the *entrance* of the stadium, where the big gates are and the concession stands… it’s one of the coolest locations I’ve ever shot at for a reception, but it’s no wonder – this couple is not only creative, they’re *daring*. God I love these guys.

Sarah did ALL of the decorating herself. She selected these funky black and white patterns, with a bright green accent, which ran throughout ALL of her details. Her cake, she designed herself and commissioned an artist to make her vision a reality. Sarah planned the entire thing, top to bottom, major detail to the most minuscule, by herself and using only her incredible imagination and her endless creativity.

Greg probably did something with the planning, but it wasn’t ever mentioned.:)All I know is, he was absolutely giddy when he saw her walk down the aisle (GIDDY), he was one of the most handsome and happiest grooms ever, and together they just shine.

Here are just a *few* images from their wedding. Sorry for the bandwidth hogging… I can’t help it.

Downtown Wilmington Engagement Session | Lisa + Ben

Lisa and Ben are a great couple. I mean, in so many ways. They’re super patient, really easygoing, they both have a great sense of humor, and they’re just fun to be around. My kinda people.

Here are some highlights from their engagement session! We shot in downtown Wilmington and at Johnny Mercer’s Pier at Wrightsville Beach:

Seriously. Right? How cute are they.

Isn’t she beautiful! A little biased, but hey, I’m allowed to be. Charo, phenomenal web-site, and the pictures are priceless. Thank you for your great eye, can’t wait to see the wedding blog!
